Welcome to Molly’s Cottage.

Built in the style of a traditional Norfolk cottage and completely renovated in 2022, Molly’s Cottage combines traditional character with modern comfort. Subtle coastal touches hint at just how close you are to the sea, while the interiors have been carefully considered to make the cottage feel relaxed from the moment you arrive.

A home from home, by design.

Gillian’s background is in interior design, and Molly’s Cottage has been created around a simple idea: somewhere you choose to stay should feel like somewhere you’d be happy to call home.

That thinking runs through the cottage, from the soft Farrow & Ball colours to the little details that make settling in easy.

Meet Gillian.

Molly’s Cottage is personally owned and looked after by Gillian, who has been welcoming guests here for five years. Her love of interiors and the Norfolk countryside is reflected throughout the cottage.

Tucked away at the end of a private drive, with gardens wrapping around the cottage and open countryside beyond the hedges. It’s wonderfully peaceful, but the coast is less than 3 miles away.

It’s a house for spending time together. The open-plan living and dining room runs the width of the cottage, with French doors opening onto two south-facing patios. When the Norfolk weather turns cooler, light the wood burner and settle in. Underfloor heating keeps the ground floor cosy through the colder months.

Upstairs are two king bedrooms with sleigh beds and Egyptian cotton linen, alongside a twin bedroom and family bathroom. Everything has been designed to feel comfortable and considered, without losing the relaxed feel of a country cottage.

The main bedroom opens onto a Juliet balcony with uninterrupted views across the countryside. Face east in the morning and you’ll see the sun coming up over the fields. If a lie-in sounds better, the lined curtains have you covered.

Kitchen
Partially open plan to the living room, the kitchen has everything you need for an easy weekend away or a longer stay. There’s even a wine cooler and cocktail shaker for evenings when staying in sounds better than going out.
Snug
A cosy little room away from the main living space, with a day bed for an additional guest. Equally good for disappearing with a book for an hour.
Shower room
A step-free shower room and WC on the ground floor, with the washing machine housed here too.

Gardens
The garden wraps around the whole cottage, with hedges providing privacy and open fields beyond. Find a quiet spot, pour a coffee and enjoy how peaceful it is.
Patios
Two south-facing patios give you a choice of places to sit outside. The main patio has a barbecue and outdoor dining area, and there’s usually somewhere to catch the sun throughout the day.
Parking
Private parking for up to three cars, right outside the cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mollys Cottage, the property was very clean and well presented a real home from home feel. It is in a great position for days out to various beaches, Cromer is 5 mins away in the car and the kids loved it with the arcades etc. there is so much to see and do in this area all within 45 mins drive, Gillian recommended some places to eat and some great beaches which we visited, the highlight was seeing the seals at horsey gap for our 11 year old boys. Had a lovely holiday and would definitely return.

Many reviewers have said how Molly’s Cottage felt like a home from home and I couldn’t agree more. I booked the cottage as a surprise weekend away for my husband’s 50th, and his best mate and fiancee joined us. The open plan space downstairs was perfect for us to chat, play cards, eat and watch TV together and was cosy and comfy, while the space and bedrooms upstairs - and a shower room downstairs - gave each couple their own privacy too. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a coastal vibe and is well kitted out. The location is great as there’s so much to see and do in the area and Gillian recommended lots of eateries and places to visit. Gillian was a great host, responding very quickly to any query before and during our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you want a holiday in Norfolk and we would love to go back!

Felbrigg is a small, unspoilt hamlet surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside. Nights are quiet here, and the North Norfolk coast is just over a mile away.

Positioned a stone’s throw from the historic Felbrigg Estate, Molly’s Cottage has one of North Norfolk’s best-loved country estates almost on its doorstep. Felbrigg Hall dates back centuries, surrounded by beautiful parkland and woodland that make this a wonderful area to explore on foot.

The coastJust over a mile
Close enough for a good walk or a very short drive. Head out for some sea air, wander along the beach and see where the coast takes you.
Felbrigg HallUnder 2 miles
Felbrigg Hall sits at the heart of its historic estate. Explore the house and walled garden, then take the long way home through the parkland. A particularly good idea after lunch.
CromerA few minutes
Wander along the pier, catch the famous end-of-the-pier show or pick up fresh Cromer crab straight from the boats.
The SundownAt The Grove, Cromer
One of our local favourites. Tucked away in the grounds of The Grove Hotel in Cromer, The Sundown serves excellent tapas in a wonderfully relaxed setting. We’d happily send you there.
Blakeney & MorstonAround 30 minutes
Head along the coast to Blakeney or Morston and take a boat out to see the seals. The salt marshes are beautiful too, particularly if you’re a wildlife lover.
Walking and ridingFrom the door
Bring your walking shoes. Footpaths and bridleways criss-cross this part of Norfolk, with beautiful countryside almost from the front door. The Weavers’ Way starts in Cromer and passes right by Felbrigg on its way across the county to Great Yarmouth.

Arriving and leaving
Self check-in is available from 15:00 using the lockbox, so there’s no need to worry if traffic delays you on the way. Check-out is by 11:00.
Guests
Molly’s Cottage sleeps up to six, and can take one additional guest for a small extra charge (see the house rules). It’s a home, not a venue, so there are no parties or events, and quiet hours are 23:00–07:00.
Accessibility
The whole ground floor is step-free. The snug also has a day bed, which may be useful for anyone who would prefer not to use the stairs.
Staircase
Upstairs is reached by a wide spiral staircase. If anyone in your party has limited mobility, please give Gillian a call before booking. She’ll happily talk you through the layout so you can decide whether the cottage will work for you. A child safety gate is supplied.
Linen
Fresh bed linen and towels will be ready for your arrival, with Egyptian cotton linen on both king beds.
Wood burner
A basket of logs is waiting for you. For safety, we supply LED candles rather than real ones.
Pets
We love animals, but know that not everybody does, so Molly’s Cottage is kept pet-free for all our guests.
Smoking
Molly’s Cottage is a non-smoking property, but smoking is permitted outside.
Private drive
The cottage sits at the end of a quiet private drive. Please take it slowly on your way in and keep an eye out for walkers and the local wildlife.
Guest access
You’ll have the cottage to yourselves during your stay. The only exception is one small first-floor cupboard used for linen and housekeeping.
Deposit
A deposit secures your stay, and Gillian will confirm the details when she comes back to you about your dates.

Just the two of you? The cottage can also be booked with only the main bedroom, for up to two guests, at a reduced rate. You’ll have the rest of the cottage, the garden and both patios to yourselves; the other bedrooms stay closed.
